Refocus with a good book. Not one that gets you stirred up over politics or world events, but an excellent old-fashioned work of fiction that is interesting enough to pull you in and demand your attention. You could be surprised to learn that the problem you have already been worrying about is quickly forgotten as you turn the pages.
Relax with an excellent soak. Ease tense muscles and soothe the senses with a nice, soaking bath. Pour in the scented bath oils, light some candles, and lean back with an awesome cloth on your own head. Turn your thoughts to anything that brings a smile to your face. Think about the warm water caressing you and easing away all of your tensions. This takes a little work, but it works, otherwise why would so many people spend so much time soaking in a tub?

Choosing one, or several, of these options will allow you to lower your stress. Lowering your stress can decrease the harmful effects on your own body, mind and spirit. Stress causes premature aging by increasing wrinkles and worry lines. It has even been proven recently, to be linked to dental problems, Alzheimer's disease, depression, and dementia. Chronic stress is debilitating and any actions you can take to help reduce it in your daily life will help make sure you stay at your healthy best and ready to face those stressful items that simply cannot be avoided.
